Anne McDow, E-RYT 500

Anne started her lifelong love of yoga when there were no mats and all poses were standing. The only prop was only a towel for relaxation. Anne tried many other kinds of exercise – from running to belly dancing, from tap dancing to Tai Chi. After retiring from teaching school, Anne leapt at the opportunity to train as a yoga teacher, and from the first training, she knew that she had found her calling.

With over 800 hours of formal yoga training, Anne loves sharing that knowledge and integrating it into her teaching. Anne works hard to make sure that each student takes the option that is best for him or her making her classes really “all about you”.

Anne is known for her light-hearted and happy classes with an emphasis on a safe experience for each student. Anne loves teaching yoga one-on-one, in small groups and leading large groups alike. Certified in Laughing Yoga, Anne brings that joy and fun to every practice.

I was lucky enough to be born happy. My work is focused on bringing that happiness and joy to others through the practice of yoga. I believe that the mindful and physical aspects of a good yoga practice can create a Positive Balance in the bank account of life.

Bill McDow, E-RYT 500

As a long distance runner, swimmer and fitness advocate, Bill was looking for a kinder, gentler workout for stress relief when he started practicing Tai Chi in 1995. He learned both the Yang and Chen style long forms by 2000, but on departure of his second Sensei, Bill shifted his focus to other forms of movement – yoga, Pilates, and Feldenkrais.

When Bill discovered that the mindful aspect of yoga enabled him to achieve a more Positive Balance in his life – physically, mentally, and spiritually – he decided to become a yoga teacher and share his discovery of yoga with others. Bill began yoga teacher training journey in 2004 toward his Yoga Alliance certification while continuing work as an IT advisory consultant.

I hope to bring safe, functional movement and health to more people.
